The Council of the University of Bamenda has approved the institution’s 2025 administrative and management accounts while adopting an additional CFA 23.75 million budget for the 2026 financial year during its 29th Ordinary Session held on Friday, July 17, 2026.
As published on the official website of the University, The meeting focused on reviewing the University’s financial performance, governance, and administrative progress, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to sound financial management and continued institutional development.
Council Approves 2025 Administrative and Management Accounts
During the session, Council members examined and unanimously adopted the University’s administrative and management accounts for the 2025 financial year. The approval reflects the institution’s financial accountability and compliance with established governance procedures.
The adoption of the accounts provides a financial overview of the University’s operations during the 2025 fiscal year and serves as an important step in evaluating institutional performance and planning for future development.
Additional CFA 23.75 Million Budget Approved for 2026
Council also approved an additional budget of 23,750,000 Francs CFA, increasing the University’s 2026 budget from:
- Initial Budget: CFA 10,417,566,744
- Approved Additional Budget: CFA 23,750,000
- Revised 2026 Budget: CFA 10,441,316,744
The revised budget is expected to strengthen the University’s ability to implement its planned activities and address emerging operational priorities during the remainder of the financial year.
Council Commends University Leadership
Beyond financial matters, Council praised the leadership of the University for successfully steering the institution through the 2025/2026 academic year, despite what it described as “daunting challenges.” Special recognition was given to the Vice-Chancellor and her collaborators for maintaining academic and administrative stability throughout the year.
The Council also commended the technical team led by the Registrar, applauding the quality and professionalism of the documents presented during the session.
Appreciation to Government Authorities
The Council concluded by expressing gratitude to the Government of Cameroon for its continued support of the University.
In particular, appreciation was extended to:
- The Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education;
- The Prime Minister, Head of Government; and
- The President of the Republic, H.E. Paul Biya,
for their sustained support, which Council said has contributed to the smooth functioning of the University of Bamenda.

The resolutions adopted during the 29th Ordinary Council Session demonstrate the University’s ongoing commitment to prudent financial management, institutional accountability, and the pursuit of academic excellence.
By approving both the 2025 financial accounts and the revised 2026 budget, the Council has laid the groundwork for continued implementation of the University’s strategic objectives while reinforcing confidence in its governance and management systems.
