Barrister Derek Invo Buo to Launch Twin Books on Cameroon’s Municipal Police and Legal Practice Ethics in Bamenda, the Northwest Region of Cameroon


Barrister Derek Invo Buo, a fine legal practitioner, lecturer and legal researcher will be launching two books in Bamenda. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2019, and to the Cameroon Bar as Advocate, Solicitor, and Notary Public in 2020. He is set to enrich Cameroon’s legal literature with the launch of two groundbreaking books on 13 November 2025 at 1:00 pm at Club 5B, Bamenda, the Northwest Region of Cameroon. He obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) in 2023.

As a mentor, author, and conference presenter, Barrister Buo has contributed significantly to legal education and public service. His previous works include Courts with Special Jurisdiction in Cameroon, Law and Government for Cameroon Colleges, and Law: A Technical Approach for Technical and Commercial Institutions in Cameroon.

On 13 November 2025, he will unveil two new titles:

  • Cameroon Municipal Police: A Review of the Applicable Decree
  • The Professional Ethics and Skills of Legal Practice: A Practitioner’s Narrative

These books promise to be invaluable resources for legal practitioners, students, and municipal stakeholders, offering both a deep analysis of the regulatory framework for municipal policing in Cameroon and a practical guide to the ethics and skills required for successful legal practice.

The launch event at Club 5B in Bamenda, will gather legal professionals, students, academics, and civic leaders. It represents not only a celebration of Barrister Buo’s scholarly achievements but also an important contribution to the ongoing conversation about professionalism, ethics, and effective municipal governance in Cameroon.
