Agbor Balla Confirms Presence in Berlin for World Liberty Congress Amid Cameroon Crackdown

On 7 November 2025, Cameroonian human rights lawyer and activist Nkongho Felix Agbor, widely known as Agbor Balla, confirmed his participation at the World Liberty Congress (WLC) in Berlin, Germany. Confirmed on his official Facebook page, The global summit brings together over 60 countries’ leading voices in democracy, civic activism, and human rights defense.

Amid reports of a security raid at his residence in Cameroon following the disputed October 12 presidential election, Agbor Balla’s presence in Berlin has drawn international attention. In a public statement, he emphasized his continued dedication to democratic values and civic freedoms:

“It is an honour to serve as a delegate from Cameroon, contributing to discussions on strengthening democratic institutions, promoting civic space, and defending human rights around the world.”

The World Liberty Congress serves as a strategic platform for collaboration among global pro-democracy leaders, offering a space to share ideas, build solidarity, and develop actionable strategies to protect civil liberties.

Agbor Balla reaffirmed his commitment to the vision of a peaceful, democratic, and prosperous Cameroon, stating:

“I remain committed to these principles and to the vision of a peaceful, democratic, and prosperous Cameroon where every citizen’s rights and dignity are protected.”

As tensions rise in Cameroon and dozens of opposition figures face arrest, Agbor Balla’s international engagement highlights the growing concern over civic space and human rights in the country.
